We've been through OPI and Katy Perry's Crackle phase, and that whole "press on manicure" with the nail stickers has come and gone, but now, 'The New Black' is all the rave when it comes to nails, and I have a feeling its here to stay. The brand combines the hottest trends of season with the latest innovations in color, to ultimately create sets of polish that all true fashionistas crave. 

As I looked more into the brand, I couldnt help but admire the briliance behind the product. From their 'Ombre' sets, which include 5 polish shades ranging from lightest to darkest, to the 3-piece 'I Heart You' set for Valentine's day, I finally came across the one I just HAD to have: the 'Daily News Typography' set. The 4-piece set comes with a nude base color, a roll of custom typed newspaper, transfer solution, and finally, a clear top coat to lock in the look. In just 20 minutes, I had a perfectly polished, newpaper printed mani! And a week later, still holding up, I'm officially OBSESSED!

It is all to easy sometimes to get caught up in the day to days stresses and forget to appreciate my Team, Clients and LAshX Family members as often as I should.  Without my clients' undying support, referals, reviews, feedback, and loyalty we would not have this company. 

In 2012 I want to promise to continue to make changes getting us closer to our goal of becoming the Best Lash company and Makeup Studio in the World. It sounds like a big goal, but the Makeup Mandy/LAshX Team I am committed to providing the best quality products for our clients, continued education in the safest techniques, and the best results possible!

For those of you who have given us constructive criticism over the past year, I thank you, and promise to strive to wow you! I personally want to recognize some of the successes my Team and the LAshX Family have had over the year:

Vegas, our first trade show in June was a HUGE success. It was awesome to see how our company compares to the other options out there. It taught all of us we really are on the right track. We met Erin in Arizona there :) and had some fun too!

I Traveled all over for Ke$ha's tour doing hair extensions and lashes, such a cool experience! She is such an amazing performer and person! Love Tessa Too.

We all want longer, thicker lashes, and there are more and more lash growth serums are appearing on the market. Beautylish tried two different products to see whether it's worth spending a lot, or just a little, to get standout natural lashes.

Tara says: 
I’ve always been a little skeptical of products that are supposed to make parts of your body grow faster or stronger, as they seem a little scary. However, I’ve always loved long, fluttery lashes and it’s all in the name of beauty, right? I decided to begin with the cheapest product because really, who doesn't like a miracle for a bargain? The Rimmel serum was very gooey, and my lashes felt wet when I first applied it. The wetness didn’t settle down for about an hour, and unfortunately I couldn’t apply mascara over it (mine didn’t really stick). After a week I hadn't noticed a difference, and after two there was a slight improvement in length but not volume. When three weeks were up, I noticed only the smallest amount of growth.

Ning says: 
The Makeup Mandy LAshX Pro/Line are the only ones I've ever used that didn't make my eyes red and my eyelids swell. They contain peptides instead of steroids, so the lashes you grow won't fall out after you stop using the product. These liners also come in three different colors, so they function as makeup and encourage lash growth. I love that the formula is propylene glycol-free, which means it won’t dissolve the glue in lash extensions. This is the only lash growth formula out there that's lash extension safe. It also makes each hair stay in the growth stage longer, so it doesn't fall out as fast—which means I need fewer extension touch-ups (and save time and money!). After two weeks of use, I thought I noticed that my lashes were longer, but after three weeks I was positive. After a lash extension mishap, I removed all the extensions and my damaged upper lashes were shorter than the ones below my eyes. After week three, those top lashes were longer again.

Final verdict:
There was a huge difference in growth between the Makeup Mandy LAshX Pro/Line and the Rimmel London Accelerating Growth Serum. If you're looking for genuine results, it's sometimes better to spend the extra money to achieve something big.
